Introduction to Hong Kong Mahjong

Join us for our first-ever two-night Introduction to Hong Kong Mahjong class! 🀄

Hong Kong Mahjong is a fast-paced and exciting variation of the game, with its own rules, scoring system, and winning combinations. Whether you already know American Mah Jongg or are completely new to the game, this class is a fun way to try something new, expand your Mah Jongg skills, and experience a different style of play.

What You’ll Learn

Over two evenings, we’ll introduce you to the fundamentals of Hong Kong Mahjong, including:

• The tiles and the deal
• Basic rules and gameplay
• The significance of the four winds and their directions
• How hands are built and completed
• Scoring and the concept of faan
• Winning combinations
• General tips and strategies to help you feel comfortable at the table

This class is designed as an introduction, so you don’t need prior experience with Hong Kong Mahjong. Familiarity with American Mah Jongg is helpful, but not required.

6:00–8:00 PM both nights

This is a two-night class.  Attendance for the first class is required, but attendance at both sessions is recommended, so you can build on what you learn each evening.
