Get ready to sharpen your skills and enjoy some friendly competition!

This league is intended for players who have been playing for at least 18 months, and are able to get through 2 rounds of play in 2.5 hours.  

📅 League Schedule

When: Thurdays, 6:30–9:00 PM
Season: September 10, 2026 – October 22, 2026
Format: 6 weeks of league play plus a bonus Awards & Open Play Night

📋 League Highlights
✨ Play follows National Mah Jongg League rules (8 jokers, no blanks)
🀄 One match consists of two rounds (games)
🎁 Weekly raffles (must be present to win)
🥤 Refreshments and game supplies provided (please bring your 2026 NMJL card)
🔄 Players rotate seating throughout the season so everyone has the opportunity to play against each other.
🤖 Players will have have at least one opportunity during the season to play on FdM's automatic mahjong table!

🧮 Scoring Details

• Each hand on the 2026 National Mah Jongg League Card has a point value.
  → This value serves as the base score for a winning hand.

➕ Bonus Points

• +10 points if you pick your own Mah Jongg tile.
• +20 points if you declare Mah Jongg with no jokers in your hand.
  ⚠️ Exception: No bonus applies to hands in the Singles & Pairs group.
• +10 points to each player for a Wall Game.
  ⚠️ Players with a dead hand do not receive these points.

➖ Penalties

• -5 points if you discard the winning tile to a player with 0 exposures.
• -10 points if you discard the winning tile to a player with 1 exposure.
• -20 points if you discard the winning tile to a player with 2 or more exposures.

⚠️ Incorrect Mah Jongg Calls

• If Mah Jongg is called in error and all three other players expose their hands:
  → All players receive 0 points.
• If one player does not expose their hand:
  → That player receives +10 points, all others receive 0 points.
• If Mah Jongg is called in error and two or more hands remain unexposed:
  → The game continues as normal

📢 Attendance Policy on Substitutes

We know everyone wants to be a part of league night, but sometimes schedules change.

If you're unable to attend a week, you do not need to find a substitute. An absent player will simply receive 0 points for that week's match.

If multiple players are absent, FdM reserves the right to reassign tables as needed to maintain four-player games whenever possible.

⚠️ Registration Information

• Space is limited.
• No refunds after registration.
• A minimum of 16 players is required for the league to run. If the minimum is not met, all registrations will be fully refunded.
