Join us on Friday, May 15 for an evening of great food from Martin's Wine Cellar and a lively discussion about all the variations of mahjong Flowers! Why do some have Flower tiles not have flowers on them? Why do some have numbers on them? And what's with the seasons?
Doors open at 6pm and playing continues til 8:30 pm. Prior to play, Sheila and Carrie will will break down the history and symbolism of the various Flower tiles. They'll even have photos from sets--modern and vintage--showing many Flower tile varieties!
As part of Fleur de Mahj’s “Eat Around the World” Theme Nights, come with an appetite—both for dinner and a bit of mahjong history. Gluten friendly and vegetarian choices will be available.
